KRISTAL WATER PURIFICATION

KRISTAL technology makes it possible to convert almost any kind of polluted and contaminated water into clean and safe drinking water that conforms to standards of quality as they are established by the health authorities in the Netherlands.
What KRISTAL proposes is to bring the water plant close to where the consumers live. A standalone Kristal water purification plant is fitted inside a standard 20 foot sea container. The system has been designed and developed for use on large seagoing ships and has proven its reliability under exacting maritime conditions that are unlikely to ever occur ashore. Performance and wear are monitored remotely and all servicing is pre–programmed in a preventive maintenance plan. The standard unit produces 60,000 liters per 24 hours, serving communities of 12-15,000 people.

KRISTAL employs an integrated system of microfiltration, ultra-filtration, reversed osmosis, carbon adsorption, ultraviolet disinfection, and advanced remineralisation to produce high quality drinking water. It is a sophisticated double barrier process that offers an absolute assurance of safety and delivers drinking water of the highest purity and exceptional taste.

Because the water purification plants are standalone units that can operate independently they can be positioned strategically in many different environments.  In locales where no grid power is available the pumps that drive the system can be run by diesel auxiliary. By their design KRISTAL water plants are perfectly scaled to be fully embedded in the communities that they serve and a single purification unit provides a secure, stable and meaningful job for 10 to 15 people from that local neighborhood. KRISTAL water plants can be tailored and positioned to offer the right solution to water scarcity in a range of situations, from urban areas to remote island locations. They can support entire industrial estates or hotel clusters. Kristal water plants can operate independently or support existing public water utilities in problematic areas. As a byproduct of the purification process there is a considerable amount of flush water that is perfectly clean but still below drinking quality. Each KRISTAL unit will also be able to serve the community by delivering large quantities of water for sanitation or irrigation purposes. KRISTAL water plants are ideal for temporary use and offer relief in disaster areas. When they are no longer needed the containers can easily be moved to another location by truck or by boat.

 
KRISTAL FUEL TECHNOLOGY


Kristal has developed Electronic Combustion Enhancement devices for all internal combustion engines, both gasoline and diesel. They treat fuels to achieve a better and more efficient combustion. The technology resulted from the molecular study of fluids and is based on Electro Magnetic Frequencies (EMF). By treating the fuel directly before the injection with a so-called superimposed electric and electromagnetic field, the surface tension of the fuel is reduced. The devices generate this electromagnetic field by means of electrical coils that are wound around the fuel inlet pipe. It is an elegant solution because the "treatment" of the fuel occurs outside the combustion system and the fact that this happens electronically makes the Kristal device maintenance free. The power supply and control is digital and can be computerized.

Enhanced combustion increases energy yield, saves fuel and reduces emissions.

 
 

The result of the treatment is that the fuel can be much more finely vaporized into smaller drops than normal. The lower surface tension allows better and more uniform atomization at the injection and results in significantly better combustion. The EMF treatment improves the fuel consumption by a minimum of 5% and reduces the emission of Black Carbon by 40-70%. In addition it reduces the toxic emission of gaseous sulfur and nitrogen oxides (SOx/NOx) by 20%.

While The Kristal EMF technology elegantly reduces the footprint of an internal combustion engine, the unique selling point can be found in the fact that the devices bring substantial cost savings. Cleaner fuel reduces maintenance and extends the lifetime of pumps and injectors. In most mobile applications such as trucks and busses they will pay for themselves within one year.

 
 
CRE BIOMASS SYSTEMS


CRE Biomass systems have been specifically developed for use in Indonesian and other Asian rice growing areas as a low cost and low maintenance source of localized power generation. In the practice of traditional rice farming usually all the plant waste that remains on the fields after the rice grains have been removed by a husker, is set afire. The combustion and decomposition of these residues result in the emission of large amounts of carbon dioxide. CRE Biomass Gasification technology turns this agricultural waste into energy and at the same time it makes a small but elegant contribution to carbon sequestration. A by-product in the gasification process is bio-char which can later store large concentrations of CO2 in the soil enhancing fertility and indirectly assisting in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. In itself the practice of producing energy using the gasification method has been in use for some two hundred years already. Gasification is a process that converts cellulosic biomass (or any other carbon fuel) into a synthetic gas. In principle it is based on the process of pyrolysis, which is the thermo-chemical decomposition of biomass that occurs in the absence of oxygen. In the gasification of rice hulls, the feedstock must be reduced to very fine particles and thoroughly dehydrated before it is used and it is necessary to create very high gasification temperatures, at times as high as 1000 C. Above the gasification zone, a bed of fine, hot char is formed, and as air is forced into the reactor by means of a fan, the gas is forced through this bed with the result that most complex hydrocarbons are broken down into simple components of hydrogen and carbon monoxide. The reactor temperature can be precisely controlled by means of water cooling and the Gasifier has a filtration system that thoroughly and efficiently cleans up the gas giving a quality that can directly power a conventional internal combustion engine. The CRE power plant offers state-of-the-art technology in a compact design with low maintenance requirements.
 
 


MUNICIPAL WASTE TO ENERGY SYSTEMS

MYSS is closely associated with Healthy Cities, a Netherlands based conglomerate that coordinates large infrastructure projects in a number of countries. Healthy Cities undertakes urban development programs from design to completion, including all vital buildings and all water, solar energy, waste management and health technology systems. Through Healthy Cities MYSS has a direct line to a US based global leader in pyrolysis waste-to-energy systems that can handle any amount of municipal, agricultural, commercial or industrial waste. Such systems can turn a perpetual cost and environmental burden into an ongoing source of revenue by generating electricity from a vast resource: garbage. While reducing   or even potentially eliminating existing landfills, such systems convert existing waste flows into a source of revenue. A typical ‘off-the shelf’ plant will handle 500 metric tons of mixed municipal waste per day and produce combustible gases that will fuel a gas turbine to generate electricity. In addition it will produce marine “bunker” or diesel fuel and carbon-rich solid matter such as asphalt.


 
 

SUSTAINABLE SOIL TECHNOLOGY AND FARM OUTPUT OPTIMIZATION

MYSS is also associated with another team of environmental experts from the Netherlands who perform soil ecosystem analysis and assist in the natural restoration of topsoil structure. Plant health and optimum agricultural crop production are achieved through the proper biological management of micro-organisms, eliminating the dependency on chemical fertilizers. Proper agro-ecological practices can be magnified with the use of mycorrhizal fungi. The word ‘mycorrhiza’ is derived from the classical Greek words for 'mushroom' and 'root'. Around 400 million years old, mycorrhizal fungi are present in 92% of plant families, everywhere on the planet, in both dry and wet ecosystems, from moderate climes to the tropics. The fungi occur naturally in soil, effectively creating a secondary root system which grows out into the soil searching for nutrients and water in exchange for carbon from the plant. Mycorrhizal fungi live in symbiosis with their host plants or trees and are essential organisms in the natural ecosystems. Using this micro-organism concentrate is a cost effective, perfectly local and organic alternative to the ubiquitous but needless addiction to chemical fertilizers. When natural and locally sourced fungi are cultivated on host plants this represents a sustainable practice that has absolutely no negative impact on the environment. While eliminating chemical fertilizers that pollute groundwater with excessive levels of nitrates, farmers bring sustainably produced, perfectly organic crops to the market.

 
 

METACRYLICS ENERGY EFFICIENT ROOFING SYSTEMS

Metacrylics® is a smart long-lasting solution to leaking roofs. It is a layered, watertight blanket of elastomeric acrylics, encapsulating a tough stitch bonded polyester fabric. The result is a system which handles roof, deck, and building movement regardless of extreme temperature, thermo shock, earthquakes, hurricanes or floods. It can be applied over any type of roofing. It is flexible and extremely durable. Once a roof is fully waterproof the result is inevitably that routine maintenance costs are greatly reduced.

Pioneered over 30 years ago by the original co-founders and patent holders Conrad and Mark Anthenien, Metacrylics'® products have been used in hundreds of thousands of applications worldwide ranging from the scorching temperatures of the Mojave Desert to the frigid climate of Antarctica on the revolutionary E-Base 2041 project. Metacrylics® products can be applied with industrial spray systems for large commercial installations, or by brush and rollers for smaller residential projects. Metacrylics secret is simple. The finest grade of acrylic resin available for roofing and decks, is mixed with the highest grade Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) and a few other ingredients. Acrylic White has a 98.9% luminous reflectance, significantly reducing air-conditioning costs. Metacrylics® products last two to three times longer than other roof coatings.
